How to use the ACUTAP tools from ACUGEN Software
in the transition from classic in-circuit board testing to boundary scan testing
For classic in-circuit board testing:
ü Use ACUGEN cluster testing to test clusters of small devices that cannot be tested individually because of disabling (guarding) limitations.
ü Use ACUGEN cluster testing to lower tester pin requirements.
For single device in-circuit boundary scan:
ü Use TESTBSDL tool to generate ICT tests for boundary scan devices.
ü Use TESTBSDL tool to validate BSDL files.
ü Use PROGBSDL tool to modify BSDL files to match circuit board constraints.
ü Use ACUGEN cluster testing to test clusters of small devices that cannot be tested individually because of disabling (guarding) limitations.
ü Use ACUGEN cluster testing to lower tester pin requirements
For long chain boundary scan mixed with in-circuit and
For full boundary scan without in-circuit tester:
ü Use TESTBSDL tool to validate BSDL files.
ü Use PROGBSDL tool to modify BSDL files to match circuit board constraints.
ü Use ACUGEN cluster testing to test non-boundary scan devices that are surrounded by boundary scan parts.
